Michelle Audoin, Patient Representative Committee Chair and Health Equity Rep

Michelle Audoin is a mom and educator living with Stage 4 breast cancer. When she didn’t see herself represented in images of breast reconstruction, she began to advocate for the unmet needs of undersupported communities by creating the resource, Uncovered: A Breast Recognition Project, which has been shared internationally.

Michelle is the CCTG Patient Representative Committee Chair and the Health Equity Rep. Prior to becoming Chair, Michelle was a Patient Rep on the Breast Disease Site Committee. Michelle believes strongly that research and clinical trials are an integral part of cancer care and should be accessible to all Canadians, regardless of their postal code, age, race, ethnicity, sexual or relationship diversity, or gender. She is active in many cancer organizations including 3CTN, Queering Cancer, the Princess Margaret SGDc Program, and All.Can Canada. As a patient partner, Michelle participates in cancer research and awareness campaigns with a health equity focus. She also helps facilitate retreats at no cost to participants for people who have a cancer diagnosis and their primary support person.
