The Trialblazers were presented with the Gold Team Award as the highest fundraising team - over $10,400!!! Relay for Life, the Canadian Cancer Society's (CCS) largest funding raising event, was held in Kingston this past weekend on June 6. This year, the Canadian Cancer Trials Group Central Office formed a team, The Trialblazers, and was presented with the Gold Team Award as the highest fundraising team -- over $10,400!!! The Canadian Cancer Trials Group has conducted almost 500 trials over its 35 years history. Among our achievements have been trials that have identified new treatments and improved outcomes for patients with breast, bowel, prostate, lung, brain cancers, leukemia and lymphoma. Throughout the years, it is been supported by a national program grant from CCS, the largest single grant within the Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute's portfolio. We are extremely grateful to all of the generous donors who contributed to the Trialblazers. We are proud of our team's efforts to raise money for CCS and to to acknowledge their work and support of Canadian Cancer Trials Group. The next addition of the Bulletin (being sent out June 19) will include stories of other teams across the Canadian Cancer Trials Group network who participated in Relays for Life.
