Dr. Thierry Alcindor, MD, MSc, FRCPC

Sarcoma Disease Site Committee Chair

Dr. Thierry Alcindor obtained his MD degree at Université d’État d’Haïti, then Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology training at Yale-New Haven Medical Center and Tufts-New England Medical Center, respectively. He also holds a Master’s degree in Experimental Therapeutics from the University of Oxford. Currently, he is Director of Medical Oncology and Associate Director for Clinical Trials in Oncology at the Center for Innovative Medicine, McGill University Health Centre as well as Associate Professor of Oncology and Medicine at McGill University, in Montreal. Dr. Alcindor’s clinical research portfolio includes investigator-initiated studies, as well as trials with pharmaceutical companies and oncology cooperative groups. He is co-chair of the CCTG Sarcoma Disease Site Committee and co-chair of the CCTG Esophago-Gastric Disease- Oriented Group. In both capacities, he has led several studies as a national principal investigator. He is a member of the Scientific Program Committee of the ASCO Annual Meeting.

Research interests:

  • Designing and implementing experimental treatments for sarcomas and cancers of the digestive tract (esophagus, stomach, and colon)
