CCTG was pleased to present the Excellence in Clinical Trials Conduct award to Iryna Sokolenko at North York General Hospital for her work to support our trials and contributions to patient-focused research. Iryna is the PCRA for CRC.10 and has been recognized as having exceptional attention to detail who's genuine care made participating in the trial a positive experience for patients. This is presented annually to an individual who exemplifies excellence in clinical trial operations and compliance at their institution.

Iryna Sokolenko is an International Medical Graduate from Ukraine who moved to Canada to continue her career in healthcare. Passionate about research and patient care, she pursued a Clinical Research Certificate at Seneca Polytechnic to gain expertise in clinical trials and regulatory processes. She began her career as a Clinical Trials Associate at a CRO, focusing on quality control of the electronic Trial Master File and ensuring compliance with regulatory and study requirements. In 2022, she joined the clinical trials team at North York General Hospital, transitioning into a role that allowed her to work closely with patients and support patient-focused research. In her current role as a Clinical Research Coordinator, she conducts oncology studies, working closely with investigators, patients, study sponsors, and specifically with the CCTG. With a solid foundation in both medicine and research, Iryna is dedicated to contributing to cancer trials that truly make a difference in patients’ lives.
