CCTG is looking for two Health Equity Leads

CCTG is seeking interested individuals with a background in health equity to serve as Health Equity Leads. 

Background 

Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, Indigenization, and Accessibility (EDIIA) are core values of CCTG. In 2022, CCTG developed an EDIIA Action Plan and advanced several EDIIA initiatives (for more information: EDIIA at CCTG). Subsequently, two trials were selected as pilot trials to advance several initiatives to improve access to trials for equity deserving and underrepresented communities.  The pilot trials are PR25 (Learn more here: PR25) and HN13 (Learn more here: HN13). 

The pilot trial equity initiatives currently include developing trial Diversity Action Plans, a reimbursement policy for trial related expenses, resources (e.g. scripts, videos) on offering clinical trials in a culturally safe manner, translating patient facing materials, and building relationships with equity deserving patient advocacy groups and other researchers providing cancer care and conducting clinical trial equity work. 

As a result, CCTG is looking for two Health Equity Leads to support these equity initiatives for PR25 and HN13 and support the newly established Health Equity Committee. 

The Health Equity Leads will be members of CCTG’s Health Equity Committee who will: 

  • Work to advance the success of the pilot trial equity initiatives.
  • Participate in bi-monthly calls to discuss the pilot trial initiatives with CCTG’s EDIIA Lead.
  • Report and evaluate pilot trial initiatives to Health Equity Committee members quarterly.
  • Make recommendations for modifications to the trial Diversity Action Plans.
  • Support and cultivate relationships and collaborations with equity deserving and underrepresented patient advocacy groups and researchers.
  • Provide feedback on efforts to improve equity in CCTG trials.
