Wednesday, February 04, 2026 CCTG would like to note, with sorrow, the recent death of Dr. Paul Goss and to recognize his contributions to the Group. As described in his obituary, Paul Goss led major clinical trials that had an impact internationally on the management and prevention of breast cancer. Several of those trials (MA17, MA17R, MA27, and MAP3 and their associated sub-studies) were conducted by our Group. In the process of convincing the group to take on these trials and then leading them with many global partners, Paul brought to bear not only a deep knowledge of breast cancer, but also a special level of enthusiasm. Those of us who were there during the development of these trials well remember the adventures Paul took us on as he pursued drugs and sponsors that would support his vision. Likewise, during the conduct, analyses, and publication of these studies, his visits to what was then called the central office are recalled as special occasions. Paul’s active involvement with CCTG ended a while ago but he left a permanent legacy of research accomplishments and a host of happy memories with those who worked closely with him (in addition to the authors, Dongsheng Tu, Wendy Parulekar, Harriet Richardson, and many others) and understood his drive and vision. Sincerely, Joe Pater and Lois ShepherdObituary: https://www.legacy.com/ca/obituaries/theglobeandmail/name/paul-goss-obituary?id=60559952
