CCTG Head and Neck Executive Committee is seeking members

The Canadian Cancer Trials Group's (CCTG) Head and Neck Executive Committee (HNEC) is currently seeking individuals with interest and experience in head and neck studies to join the HNEC. In broad terms (adapted from the CCTG's Terms of Reference), the roles of the Disease Site Committee (DSC) Executive members are to:

  1. Evaluate and prioritize new proposals and determine, in consultation, which ones should be brought to the broader Head and Neck membership for comments on feasibility and scientific merit, and to the Clinical Trials Committee for approval;
  2. Generate new ideas and stimulate development of new study proposals;
  3. Ensure effective liaisons with DSC members and CCTG committees (such as the Lay Representatives); and,
  4. Assist and mentor Study Chairs in protocol development and execution.

Candidates for the HNEC should have experience and interest in the design of head and neck clinical trials. The ideal candidate(s) would have formal training in clinical trial design or conduct, PRO measurement, correlative sciences and tumour biology, or equivalent experience. Both clinical and non-clinical applicants are welcome.

This is a voluntary academic position and requires 1-2 in-person meetings per year (usually held in Toronto) as well as 3-4 conference calls per year, participating in the design, management and analysis of head and neck clinical trials and providing oversight for the Head and Neck Committee's overall strategic agenda. The term is 3 years, renewable once.

If you wish to apply, please send a letter outlining your interest & qualifications as well as your CV to Janice Flegg before September 15th, 2019.

We appreciate you bringing this opportunity to the attention of any colleagues (CCTG members) who may be suitable/interested.  Additionally, please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to suggest a promising individual who is not currently a CCTG member.
