Permanent Study Closure
Continued follow-up and ethics approval for trials where data is no longer required nor utilized poses a significant burden on both participating centres and Central Office staff. Canadian Cancer Trials Group has begun the process of reviewing trials for permanent closure.

Tumour Cavitation and Response Assessment in NSCLC
The results of a retrospective review of three Canadian Cancer Trials Group trials of platinum-based chemotherapy with or without an angiogenesis inhibitor to determine whether tumour cavitation altered response assessment was recently published in JCO.

EBRT Does Not Improve Overall Survival in Endometrial Cancer
Results of a combined EN.5/ASTEC study show that external-beam radiation therapy (EBRT) does not improve overall survival in those patients with early stage endometrial cancer. These results were just published in The Lancet.
