Trial Activation

Canadian Cancer Trials Group GA.1 (TROG 0808) -- TOPGEAR (TRIAL OF PREOPERATIVE THERAPY FOR GASTRIC AND ESOPHAGOGASTRIC JUNCTION ADENOCARCINOMA) A Randomized Phase II/III Study of Preoperative Chemotherapy versus Preoperative Chemotherapy for Resectable Gastric Cancer -- was centrally activated on July 31, 2013.

The primary objective of this study is to investigate whether the addition of chemoradiotherapy to chemotherapy is superior to chemotherapy alone in the neoadjuvant setting by improving pathological complete response (pCR) rates in the first instance and, subsequently, overall survival in patients undergoing adequate surgery (D1+ dissection) for resectable gastric cancer.

Canadian Cancer Trials Group GA.1 (TROG 0808) is an Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG)-led intergroup study.

The Canadian Cancer Trials Group obtained funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to support Canadian participation in this study.

All Canadian centres are encouraged to participate in this study and should contact Barbara Graham, Study Coordinator, at 613-533-6430 or
