2011 Spring Meeting of Participants

The Canadian Cancer Trials Group 2011 Spring Meeting of Participants will be held 29 April - 1 May at the Delta Chelsea Hotel in Toronto.

As you know, the 2010 Spring Meeting required downsizing for financial reasons. While this meeting was brought in "on budget", the Central Office is aware of the substantial risks associated with a smaller meeting, including its sustained value to and engagement of investigator and research staff. We, therefore, plan to upsize the 2011 Meeting back to its original size. This will be facilitated by having the meeting in Toronto as costs there are substantially reduced, and by additional plans that include:
  • confirming a 5-year commitment with a Toronto hotel;

  • reducing the meeting schedule from its historic 4 days to 3 days. Activities that were previously scheduled on the Thursday of the meeting will be scheduled for the Friday; and,

  • establishing new relationships with industry in order to facilitate funding. This will include the presence of industry booths.

The above steps have been taken to recognize the contributions of new investigators, committed investigators who are not in leadership roles, and Clinical Research Associates.

As has been done the past couple of years, invitations will be sent by email only. Paper invitations will not be sent.

Invitations will be sent out in the next couple of weeks.
