Dr. Mary Gospodarowicz Appointed to the Order of Canada

Dr. Mary Gospodarowicz On July 1, 2015, Dr. Mary Gospodarowicz, Medical Director of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, was named an Officer of the Order of Canada for contributing to improved cancer radiotherapy and for her leadership in advancing cancer care around the world.

Dr. Gospodarowicz has been a member of the Canadian Cancer Trials Group since 1991. During this time, she has made outstanding contributions to the Group, including as past Chair of the Canadian Cancer Trials Group's Genitourinary Disease Site Committee, chair and member of several trial committees, including BL.5, HD.6 and PR.7, and has been lead or co-author on more than 26 Canadian Cancer Trials Group publications. She is currently a member of the Canadian Cancer Trials Group's Clinical Trials Committee.

The Order of Canada, one of our country's highest civilian honours, was established in 1967, during Canada's centennial year, to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. Over the last 45 years, more than 6,000 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order.
