Edith and Carla Eisenhauer Chair in Clinical Cancer Research

We would like to inform you that the Board of Trustees at Queen's University has recently re‐dedicated the Eisenhauer Research Chair, resulting in its new name: The Edith and Carla Eisenhauer Chair in Clinical Cancer Research.

In 2001, the Edith Eisenhauer Chair in Clinical Cancer Research was established within the Faculty of Health Sciences through a generous donation by Dr. Elizabeth Eisenhauer in memory of her mother, Edith, who passed away from breast cancer. In December 2010, Dr. Eisenhauer's sister, Dr. Carla Eisenhauer, unfortunately lost her battle with cancer. The Eisenhauer Chair has thus been re‐dedicated to honour and reflect the memory of both of these special and admired individuals.

It is solely because of Dr. Eisenhauer's generosity, and the support provided through the Chair, that the position of Canadian Cancer Trials Group Director can be a full‐time role. We would like to thank Dr. Eisenhauer and her family for their generosity, thoughtfulness and dedication to research that will lead to better understandings of, and treatment for cancer.
