Dr. Elizabeth Eisenhauer Named to Royal Society of Canada

Dr. Elizabeth EisenhauerDr. Elizabeth Eisenhauer, Director of Canadian Cancer Trials Group's Investigational New Drug Program from the time she established it in 1982 until she stepped down to become Head of Queen's University Department of Oncology in 2012, and past Interim Director of the Canadian Cancer Trials Group, has been named to the Royal Society of Canada.

Dr. Eisenhauer's accomplishments have been recognized nationally and internationally, including delivering the 1998 Michel Clavel Memorial Lecture Plenary Session at the NCI-EORTC Investigational New Drug Symposium, being awarded the National Cancer Institute of Canada (now Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute) O. Harold Warwick Prize in 2002, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology of Canada Presidential Medal in 2010, and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. In 2013, she was elected a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.

Elected by their peers in recognition of outstanding scholarly, scientific and artistic achievement, Dr. Eisenhauer is among 87 Fellows elected to the Royal Society of Canada in 2015.

Election to the academies of the Royal Society of Canada is the highest honour a scholar can achieve in the Arts, Humanities and Sciences.
