Canadian Cancer Trials Group and Opportunities for Collaboration in Asia

Dr. Lesley Seymour (Investigational New Drug Program Director, Compliance Director) and Alison Urton (Group Administrator) recently presented at the International Conference on Biostatistics and Bioinformatics for Drug Development. The conference was hosted by Professor Benny Zee (Head of Division of Biostatistics) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The presentations focused on national and international clinical trials and the infrastructure and collaborations required to ensure success of these trials. Since 1980, over 25,000 patients were accrued through international collaborations and since 2004 over 50% of clinical trials activated have had at least one international partner or site. Canadian Cancer Trials Group has extensive experience in the coordination and conduct of international clinical trials which include partnerships in Asia. Future opportunities for collaboration in Asia include new partnerships and development of academic consortia. Canadian Cancer Trials Group will continue to work with The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and others, to establish these collaborations moving forward.
