Canadian Cancer Trials Group Awarded Infrastructure Funding from CFI

We are very excited to inform you that the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) has awarded the Canadian Cancer Trials Group $3.8 million over the next three years as part of its Major Science Initiatives. The CFI made the official announcement this past Monday, January 23, 2015.

This funding to support the Canadian Cancer Trials Group's Central Operations and Statistics Office, is one of nine grants CFI awarded to unique national research facilities that contribute to Canada's reputation as a global leader in research and innovation. The successful facilities were selected through the CFI's competitive, expert-review process, which assessed eligible research facilities for scientific excellence, capacity for innovation, governance structure and ability to provide tangible benefits to Canada.

"We are grateful to the CFI for providing this infrastructure funding to help support the Canadian Cancer Trials Group?s mission to conduct important clinical trials allowing cancer patients from across the country access to some of the most cutting edge cancer treatments available," says Dr. Janet Dancey, Director of the Canadian Cancer Trials Group.
